What is in place to support my child's overall well-being?

We operate an “open door” policy and all adults in school listen to any concerns children may have. Children also have the opportunity to talk to the SENCO or achievement leader if they wish to.

In addition, we have two highly experienced learning mentors:

Mrs Elaine Marsden and Mrs Leanne Mason

who are someone supportive to talk to, share successes or disappointments with and who can help with practical difficulties or worries.  They can also be the link between school and home or with other outside agencies.

They can give a helping hand with a wide range of difficulties

·        Settling into a new school

·        Friendship issues

·        Problems on the playground

·        Family breakdown

·        Unstable or difficult family circumstances

·        Changes in home life

·        The loss of a loved one

·        Coping with illness

·        Any form of bullying (including cyber bullying)

·        Controlling emotions

·               Social skills

·        Self-esteem or confidence issues

·        Worries or concerns about transferring from primary to secondary school

·        Anything else causing a child to worry
