KS2 - (Year 4) - Miss Mackinnon & Miss Hunter

Introduction

As guidance children do not need to do any more than a maximum of 1 English, 1 Maths and 1 other lesson a day. There are lots of suggestions for activities, on the Class Pages and All Year Groups - Curriculum Support and Activities Page where children can follow their own interest or parents can direct them towards interesting activities and different learning experiences.

The Learning Projects are based on the National Curriculum expectations for the key stage which your child is in. It may be that your child finds the tasks set within the Learning Project for their year group too simple. If this is the case, then we suggest that your child accesses the Learning Projects which are set for the key stage above. Equally, if the projects are too challenging, then we advise that your child accesses the projects for the key stage below.

The projects are suggestions for the children to explore their interests, using a theme that is the same across all other year groups. They can be used instead of the links we have suggested to Bitesize and Oak National Academy or to mix in with them. Your child may just want to do the Learning Project Section, which they can work with alongside siblings of different ages.

Previous projects from Spring 2 Summer 1, are now located at the bottom of the page.

Activities for Emotional Well Being, Positive Mental Health & Mindfulness

See the link below to our own website page for guidance, support and practical activities to help with emotions, change, resilience and maintaining positive mental health. Some activities are for children to do alone, some are to do with others and some sections are information for parents and carers.

We have also added an Online Safety Section on this page to give parents advice on a variety of online systems from Tik Tok, Snapchat, Twitch and others.
