Our Governors

Mr Malcolm Staley - Chair of Governors

Malcolm has remained as chair of governors at the school through the transition to an academy. His working life has been spent in local government, many years of which were at a senior management level, and he therefore has substantial experience in how schools work within the overall public sector environment.

As a grandparent to six children Malcolm believes passionately in children being given the opportunity for the best possible education as a precursor to their adult years.

Malcolm feels that the qualities that he brings to his role centre around support to the Head teacher and the school generally, organisation of the governors and their roles, monitoring the direction and progress of the school and listening to the views of parents.

Mr Adrian Sutton - Co-opted and Health and Safety Governor

Mrs Sarah Heesom - Standards Chair and Pupil Premium Governor

I am Development Director at Transform Trust and Teaching School and am responsible for the CPD and support that is provided to schools. I am passionate about bringing out the very best in people. I have worked in Education Partnerships for 20+ years as well as having experience of setting up and running a charity and my own business. When I am not at work you will find me listening to music, ideally at a festival. I have a son who is a full-time sportsman and a daughter at university.

Mrs Julie Nellist - Parent and Safeguarding Governor

I'm one of the parent governors and also the designated safeguarding governor. I have two children, one still at Breadsall Hilltop. I have volunteered at the school for many years across various year groups, I know many of the children and staff and know the school well. I work for a local University and enjoy spending time outdoors with my family in my spare time.

Ms Meghann Cummins - Parent Governor

My name is Meghann.  I am a parent Governor at Breadsall Hill Top Primary.  Two of my children currently attend this school.  I also work in the After School Provision run by the Play and Learn After School Club Ltd.  I’m really enjoying being a part of the school community in both of my roles.

Mr James Osbaldaston - Parent Governor

My name is James and I am one of the parent governors at Breadsall Hilltop Primary School and I have recently joined the Finance Committee.

My daughter attends Breadsall Hill Top Primary and my son will be attending in the next academic year, so I am keen to take up an active role in the life of the school. Making a contribution to the day to day running of the school is a pleasure and I am passionate about supporting the school and helping the school to be the very best it can. I enjoy helping in school where I can and I’ve recently helped out with KS2 SATs and school trips.

I currently work in the local area for Sky. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, watching football and getting out and about.
