Long term Plan
Our topics are driven by History and Geography themes and centered around a core text. Other curriculum areas either add to the topic or are taught as discrete subjects. They are launched with a hook to engage children into their learning and all have an outcome that children work towards.
The principles of Global Values thread throughout our curriculum. They are identified in our long term plan and are shown in the separate progression document below.
Topic Plans are supported by two key documents, these are a Reading Canon that show the breadth of text used to support Topic and English and a Knowledge Organiser, designed using cognitive load principles, that link to the core text, key topic information and the key vocabulary that the children will need.
