Planned expenditure proposal

Breadsall Hill Top Primary School is fully committed to providing opportunities for its children to live healthy and active lives.  As set out in the cross-government sport strategy "Sporting Future", sport and physical activity improve our children's physical and mental well-being and help them to develop important skills such as team work and leadership.

A positive experience of sport and physical activity at a young age can build a life time habit of participation, and essential to Breadsall Hill Tops ambition for providing outstanding education provision for our children. Physical Literacy (building physical competency alongside confidence, enjoyment, knowledge and understanding) and high quality, modern physical education (PE) lessons that engage boys and girls of all backgrounds and abilities.

We believe that by enabling BHTP children to have access to the right amount of daily activities can have wider benefits like improving behaviour as well as enhancing learning and academic achievement.  We have identified that sport is one of the foundations for building character helping our children to develop resilience, determination and self belief and instilling values and virtues such as friendship and fair play.

Our proposed spend supports the ambitions of above.
